DRAGONS
We ask our selves where hath the dragon lay, and the answer we get is the moonlight night and that is where he shall stay.
We ask our selves what hath the dragon done, and the answer we get is that he hath played and had lovely fun.
We ask our selves why hath the dragon gone, and the answer we get is that dragons there are none.
We ask our selves when will the dragon return, and the answer we get is when we relize the lesson we must learn.
We ask our selves is the dragon real,
You ask your self because you know what you really feel.

Dragon Magick an Introduction
Based on Dancing with Dragons
D.J. Conway
Part One
Dragons are as real as we are-but they live on an astral plane which coexists and intersects with ours. These wondrous beings have control of deeper currents of the elemental energies than we humans, once befriended dragons make excellent protectors and fellow magicians.
You will need to learn as much as possible about as many types of dragons and their habits, to make contact with them.
Many cultures around the world have dragon stories.
Some are depicted as huge wingless serpents, others more like the traditional picture we of the western world have of dragons: heavy bodied with wings. Dragons are shown with four legs, two legs or none, Some dragons were said to have arrowhead pointed tails or a knob or a spike at the end, Some had twisted horns others had long antenna rather like those of a moth. But in whatever form they take on humankind has a subconscious knowledge of the dragon and its powers
In the Western World our worked for dragon comes from the Greek darkon and the Latin draco. Drakon comes from the verb to see; to look at; or possibly to flash. In most legends dragons spend most of there time watching, whether it be treasure, territory or the supposed maidens.
In astronomy the ancient constellation of Draco is in the northern heavens and curves in a winding pattern between the big and little dippers. so his tail starts there and ends in a four star pattern which is the dragons head, the brightest of which is the star Dracomis and acts as the eye. It is thought to have shifted over the years and may have once been the ploestar to which the pyramid Cheops was aligned.
In Alchemy the dragon was considered to be matter, metal and physical body. Often mentions in conjunction with the dragons sister: spirit, metallic mercury, and the soul.
Ancient Alchemy used the picture of a dragon or winged serpent as one of the many secret symbols. A common symbol of spirit alchemical work is the serpent holding its tail in its mouth ( an unending circle of eternity)
Jung wrote that the alchemists considered the winged dragon female and the wingless male. Water dragons he conferred as embraced balance of spirit, bringer of the eternal change depicted as the flaming pearl or spiritual perfection
Joseph Christopher writes of winged dragons or serpents being the balance between Earth and spirit.
To the Chinese it is a potent symbol of luck and power, silver amulets are worn to help gain those qualities.
The legged dragon is associated with creation and life giving
Throughout the world the Goddess or Great Mother is connected with serpents, dragons and spirals.
The great God Istar using the Whale dragon brought about great floods which made it possible for a new order of humans to develop.
Thats enough of the Lore... it is so long and detailed YOU'll all be lost!
Seeking and working with dragons:
It should be obvious by now I have a deep passion for dragons, a belief in their powers as co-working magicians
In dragon magic you cannot afford any lingering doubts as to your right to ask for help from these powerful entities. Like many other beings, physical and non physical dragons will take advantage of anyone who vacillates in his or her commitment or anyone who is unclear of there intent of ritual!
I or anyone I work with have yet to meet an evil dragon, although we have encountered some that distrust humans so one must take special care in dealing with them. Dragons do act evil when they experience a disruption of energies, a disruption of the powers flowing from the earth and humans to the dragons and back again. So basically this is a form of magick you need to be calm cool and collected to deal with, not distracted or worrying about what's going on elsewhere!
This doesn't mean because your not in perfect balance you can't attract, contact and learn from dragons, but if you desire a continued relationship you must strive to better yourself, balance is the key!
So how does one go about finding dragons?
You begin by learning! About Dragons and their magickal habits as possible. Then look for your reason for wishing to practice dragon magick with a critical and objective eye. When you have accomplished this then you begin building an atmosphere that will attract dragons.
You perform certain actions that arouse their curiosity and that will attract them to your vicinity. You beam a mental welcome, Set aside time and a place to communicate with them on an astral level through mental visualization and speech You must believe they exist even if you cannot see there with your physical eyes... you have to cast aside the social taboos on seeing things and know in your heart that dragons do exist!
If you wish to attract them-mentally invite them, ask them to make their presence known by thought or deed.
Be sensitive and extra aware of what is occurring around you.
Most dragons tend to be subtle in there first contacts with humans.
They may choose to make an appearance in dreams or flashes of movement or be seen in your peripheral vision.
They may even forego this and simply touch your psychic 'feelings
The Basic Types
Guardian dragons are the easiest to contact and often appear as little voices or faces and forms in your mind, they may show up un-announced at any time but especially during mediations or magickal rituals. They may also appear in group, and occasionally singles.
They love the power flow of ritual, they will make an appearance and bathe intake energy, actually they may have been there always-you may just have not been ready to open them.
these smaller dragons delight in the sharing of the vibrations of tarot and rune readings and other physical practices.
You may find that the larger elemental dragons make there presence know, these tend to be very protective and can be very protective!
